Privacy Policy
Emotion Detective: Daily Case is published by MindPlay Media Studios. This policy covers the app and this website. It describes only what the app actually does today.
What we collect
- Your Case Report — the text you write, plus the assignment and the two emotion clues, and the credit you chose (a Detective name or “Anonymous”).
- Generated evidence — the judges' text and scores, and any image, audio or video reconstructed from your report.
- A device play key — a random identifier stored on your device so guest streaks and your case history work without an account. It is not an advertising identifier.
- Account details, only if you create one — your email address, or the private identifier Apple returns if you sign in with Apple, plus your chosen public Detective name. Your email is never shown publicly.
- Recognition and safety records — your friends roster, your 👍/❤️ reactions, blocked detectives, rules acceptance, your privacy choice, and any content report you send.
- Diagnostics — technical error and safety reason codes used to keep the show working. We do not use advertising trackers, ad networks or third-party analytics SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles.
How your Case Report is used
- To reconstruct evidence, your Case Report is sent to SmartBot (artificial intelligence) and to media-generation service providers, which return the judges' verdict and any image, audio or video evidence.
- Nothing is sent to any provider until you have given permission. You can withdraw permission at any time in Privacy Choices; new evidence then stops being generated.
- All public text is screened before generation and before sharing so the show stays family-safe. See the Community Rules.
- If your case is approved and selected, it may appear publicly on the Daily Winner spotlight, the Hall of Fame and shared case files, under the credit you chose.
Children
- Emotion Detective is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not require a real name, photograph, contact list or precise location to play, and you can play the whole daily case as a guest.
Retention and deletion
- Case files and their generated evidence are kept so you can revisit them in My Case Files. Deleting your account deletes them, together with your profile, friends roster, reactions, block list, privacy record and streaks.
- A case already published as a public Daily Winner or Hall of Fame record is kept as a public show record, but it is fully separated from you first: the account link, device key and badge name are removed and the credit becomes “Anonymous”.
- Guest play is not device-only: the random play key is stored on your device, and the guest cases, progress, generated evidence, privacy record and reports created with it are stored by the service and linked only to that key. Clearing the app's local data removes this device's access but does not by itself erase those records. Use “Delete guest data” on Account & Privacy to delete them; the device then starts a fresh key.
- Delete your account yourself at Account & Privacy, or email us and we will do it for you.
Your choices and contact
- You can review what your account holds, withdraw processing permission, or delete your account and data from Account & Privacy and Privacy Choices.
